Marcia Maltz is a seasoned artist, dedicated educator, and lifelong lover of Meher Baba. With over 32 years of experience in the visual arts, she has spent her life creating, teaching, and sharing art that is rich with beauty, spirit, and purpose.

Born on August 24, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, Marcia's journey in art began early and has continued through decades of education, exhibition, and service. Her workβ€”spanning painting, photography, ceramics, hand-painted books, and poetry journalsβ€”has been widely shown and collected across the country.

Her art often reflects her spiritual path and her desire to uplift others through color, texture, and storytelling. She has exhibited her work in venues such as the Gold Coast Art Fair, Water Tower Art Fair, Chicago Botanic Garden, Northwestern University, and the Marwen Foundation. She also occasionally presents benefit shows in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, supporting charitable causes through the proceeds of her sales.

Marcia holds a B.A. in Art Education from Roosevelt University (1969) and a Master’s Degree in Liberal Education from St. John’s College (1988). Her educational journey also includes:

From 1990 to 2007, Marcia taught in the Chicago Public Schools, where she served as the Chairperson of the Art Department at Sullivan High School. Her teaching philosophy centers on creativity, collaboration, and deep engagement with the arts. Highlights of her career include:

Marcia is the mother of Jesse’ Talia, a nurse and ceramic artist. In addition to her artistic life, she is an avid gardener, a devoted animal lover, and has practiced Tai Chi since 1978. Her creativity is grounded in nature, spirituality, and human connection.

She continues to travel for art shows and benefit events and maintains ties to both Chicago and Myrtle Beach, SC.
